Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 204 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

A Report to an Academy

“A Report to an Academy”, started out  as a former ape submitting his report to a meeting to a research based

Academy.Nevertheless no longer than a few years ago, he was catch in the jungles in  West Africa. As he set forth

to Europe, he came to a conclusion that their was no way out. He thought about escaping from his cage, but he knew

there would be no way to go home. After reading “A Report to an Academy,” I don't believe he’s really an ape.

When i was reading it kinda of took me back “The Metamorphosis,”  just as how Gregor  left like a bug because of

the way he was treated , I feel the narrator referred to his self as an ape to show where he stand in the wold , he felt

cage in. The way  I see it ,it’s like he describing two wold, a past wold that he portray something he once was and a

existing world  where he view his self as something which he know he’s not . This take us back to when he stated "I

belong to the Gold Coast.” What he’s speaking of is his experienced as a human but in a more sketchy kind of way.
