Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 204 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

"Carpenter's Gothic"
Paul in this passage is having a conversation with Bobbie. Money is always at steak with Paul. He needs him to obtain what he wants but they annoy him. Paul is looking after Liz's father money. We can feel his impatience at page 106 when he says "the estate is picking up your old man's stock option before they get VCR in court, twenty percent below market the price keeps slipping where all these God damn leaks are coming". He is frustrated. He is a nervous and depressed Character. He cannot accomplish things by himself. Paul let go of steam by being extremely rude and arrogant to Liz.
