Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 204 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

[21] Close Reading: Carpenter's Ghostic
In this
section, Paul and Liz are having what is supposed to be like a morning
conversation I’m guessing but it’s more like a morning argument. Liz is being
satirized. She’s doing one thing for Paul and then Paul is like can you do
this, and then Liz does that, and then Paul goes back and says didn't I ask you
to do this. I think the page of scribbles is the paper either Liz was writing
to what Paul was saying, or a paper the Paul had wrote basically of just things
he need to do or say, or to remind himself and Liz. I think Paul wants Liz to
write the letter in the voice of the reverend's mother because he wants to
impress reverend Ude as if he wrote the letter himself. The way Paul is, I’m
sure even if Liz does write the letter, he’s the one who’s going to hand it to
him, and not mentioned who wrote it.
