Do androids dream of electric sheep

At the beginning, Rick only cared about his self, and wealth. Then at the end of the story, the author shows Rick automatically having those same selfish thoughts again, but now because of the events that happened throughout his day, he shows a change, altering the way he thinks of empathy.
